BioPlus is proud to announce that an additional four BioPlus pharmacists have earned the Certified Specialty Pharmacist (CSP) certification from the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board which is a division within the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy.
“Our newly credentialed pharmacists – Zubair Afzal, PharmD, CSP, Randi Krouskos, PharmD, CSP, Heera Persaud, PharmD, CSP, and Rich Rowles, MBA, CSP – rank among a small and exclusive group of just 1054 pharmacists in the United States who have demonstrated the skill and knowledge to become a Certified Specialty Pharmacist,” shared Nicholas Maroulis, PharmD, Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations at BioPlus. “By obtaining this certification and working at the top of their credentials, these BioPlus pharmacists demonstrate that they can offer the most up-to-date skills and knowledge in the specialty pharmacy field. We thank them for always continuing to improve, so they can provide our patients, customers, and partners the best service and care possible,” Dr. Maroulis added.
The CSP credential serves as an indicator to patients, payers, additional healthcare providers, and the public at large that a pharmacist has proficiency in specialty pharmaceuticals. By holding the CSP credential, it’s clear that the pharmacist has demonstrated knowledge of the professional domains that encompass the tasks and knowledge required of a specialty pharmacy professional in various practice settings.
The Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board provides independent, verifiable evidence of proficiency in specialty pharmacy practice through a nationally recognized, accredited, and rigorous certification program. This Board promotes the specialty pharmacists’ responsibility in maintaining the highest possible quality standards to advance ethical practice and to advocate for professional development to ensure that patients served receive safe, efficient care now and in the future. These goals of the Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board are aligned with the commitment to care that BioPlus offers healthcare providers and their patients.
